Faecal analysis for pigeons

When is a manure analysis useful

Manure testing plays a crucial role in diagnosing conditions and establishing an effective treatment plan. Having your animals' manure checked on a regular basis preventively will help you stay well informed about the health situation in your coop or aviary and allow you to intervene in time. You can also have a faecal analysis carried out if an infection is suspected.

Request a manure analysis

You can bring in the manure during the opening hours of our counter, or send it by post. If you send the sample by post, please collect the manure in a plastic jar, or wrapped in aluminium foil in a plastic bag, to prevent dehydration and leaks. In both cases, the request form should be filled in as completely as possible.

Ideally, you should collect a mixed manure sample from 3 to 5 days. Optionally, additional bacteriological tests can be performed:

  • Salmonella culture (manure 3-5 days)
  • Resistance profile (E. coli)
